Some Pieces #14: Bittersweet
We were young
Error and curious
Ecstatic and energetic
A lamb in Mary's land
Error and curious
Ecstatic and energetic
A lamb in Mary's land
We were rosy buns who were so alive
Versatile but fragile.
Flowers in spring
Whose life had just been born and were blooming
Versatile but fragile.
Flowers in spring
Whose life had just been born and were blooming
We were not so intact to reality
Beaming like the Sun; smiling so blindly
Dreaming of faraway lands full of heroic stories
To be epic and classic; to be Romanians or Greeks
We used to bear the struggle together
We used to laugh under the thunder
We used to be okay
We used to always stay
But nothing is static; even us
We parted ways, changing colors and shapes
We went off a tangent.
Was it worth it? Still relevant?
Did we make it? With all the others?
It was bittersweet—our journey
We laughed and cried and dreamt and disappointed only on Earth
Was there an exact color?
A definite answer?
A proper scale?
It was mixed altogether
Sometimes the stars were shining
It was all yellow
Sometimes the tides were a storm
It was all blue and purple
Sometimes it was a blessing in disguise
An angel under a great peculiar mask
But we are conquerors; we make it
Still, all are bittersweet
